"Write your experience visiting an old folks' home" It was a shiny and a beautiful day as a rainbow. I got up from the bed and took the towel. Then, I went to the bathroom to take a bath."Splash!" The water was freezing and I don't know since when I was like a cat which is terrified of the water. When I got out from the bathroom, I saw the clock. "Ringg!!" My alarm always ringing when it's 7 a.m. sharp. I took the red shirt and a black tracsuit then wore them. After done getting ready and looked prettier, I got a silent breakfast with my beloved parents. My daddy offered to send me to school. Full of polite, I rejected his offer because my friend, Isyawanted to go to school together. "Pin! Pin!" I went out from the house after shaked my parents' hand. About 10 minutes in the car, we went out when reached school. The teacher was already there when I reached. The most fierce teacher, Miss Asha divided us into three groups and let us get in the bus. There were 33 pupils involved and 5 teachers accompanied. After about 20 minutes in the bus, I saw the old folks' home. "Qaseg Mutiara Elderly Home." I read the sign infront of that old folks' home. After talking with the caregivers, we chatted with the elderlies to know them. I met Mrs Juina, and chatted with her. She told me that her children sent her there because they didn't want to take care of her. She advised us to do not make our parents like her children do. Her children tooo never visited her although once. On 8.30 a.m. sharp, we started cleaning up the old folks home. The first group needed to clean every room and made a renovation. My friends, Athirah and Nafiza decorated the rooms and made bed for the elderly. Then she swept and mopped the floor till it was as shiny as a glass. The second group which involved me had to treat the elderly. i combed their hair, cut their nails and gave some massage. While we treated them, they shared their experience and why thy were here. Some of them were sent by their own children. This made my heart really broke. The other group had to clean up the courtyard. they cut the garess then sweep them. They cleaned the drains before planting some flower. The other painting the wall and make it colourful. After 3 hours busy cleaning the home, we felr hungry and exhausted. The elderlies offered that they wanted to cook for us. Intially, we rejected their offer buy they keep urging us. Then we had to agree but with one condition that we must help them. Me, a girl who never cook have to cook with the elderlies. It was a beautiful experience for me. Then, after we finished cooking, we served the variety of foods at the small hall. We ate together and some of us fed the elderly. Some of us voluntereed to make a perfomance. They sang some songs while we were eating. About 2 p.m., we were getting ready go to back home. Our school gave some present and distribute gifts from us. They were touched and thanked us. We promised that we will come again next time. They were really thanksul and grateul. Visiting Qaseh Mutiara Elderly Home was a memorable experience that I never had. What I had learnt from there is we must apprieciate our parents as they are. We need to take care of them how they took care us one time ago. Mrs Juina said, the children shouldn't sent their parents into the old folks home.
